Happy New Year, everyone! Please join TCBJ for an informal social outing at the Walker Art Center next Thursday, Jan. 9, at 6:30 pm. It will be one of your last chances to see the Theaster Gates Assembly Hall exhibit that includes “thousands of objects from the Chicago-based African-American company that produced Ebony and Jet magazines, and hundreds of items of “negrobilia.” We will meet in the main lobby near the front desk. On Thursday, museum admission is free. We do have complementary drink tickets to allow you to get drinks at the museum’s restaurant Esker Grove. If you can not make it that day, I do have a few complimentary Walker Art passes, but the Theaster Gates exhibit is over Jan. 12. We hope to see you there!
